Just one month after her father’s death, Fox News host Kat Timpf revealed that there was a new addition to the family. It also came one year after her breast cancer diagnosis.
“Okay. So, everyone knows I’ve had a really rough year last year — diagnosed with breast cancer, 15 hours later went into labor, gave birth to my son, had a double mastectomy. My dad helped me through the whole thing. Then, two months after my son’s first birthday, my dad just dropped dead, so it’s been really hard. I’ve been going through a lot,” she said on Instagram on June 25.
“However,” Timpf said before picking up her black and white cat that was wrapped in a teal jacket that matched her nails. “I mean… Even if you’ve gone through a lot of loss as I’ve had. As long as you haven’t lost your free will, you can adopt a one-eyed cat, name him Juan, cause he has one eye, and put him in a hoodie. Look at that. Look how cute.”
The day before, Timpf shared a photo of her with Juan and captioned it, “Baddies missing body parts.” This was in reference to Juan’s missing eye and her double mastectomy.
The cat also has his own Instagram page called The Juan-Eyed Cat, which has over 6,000 followers at the time of publication. On the account, Timpf shares photos of Juan by himself and some of him and her together.
Her followers left comments on the reveal photo, saying how they love how happy she looks. “Lovely photo of you and the cat. God bless you. He is strengthening you for all you have been through. I absolutely love that photo. The cat is adorable,” one said.
“What an adorable baby! Juan eye. Only you could come up with such a hilarious and apropos name! He was meant to be yours,” another commented.
“That’s my very favorite picture you posted,” a third added.
“Tuxedo cats are the absolute best,” one commented.
Timpf was declared cancer-free in April 2025, but still underwent a few surgeries. She then revealed this May that her father, Daniel Timpf, died unexpectedly on May 7 at the age of 69.
“It does not seem enough to simply call him my father, because he was so much more than that,” Timpf wrote on Instagram. “He was my rock, my hero, and my best friend.” She shared that he was a painter, sailor, writer, and “somehow knowledgeable on every subject.”
Timpf ended the post by saying that the birth of her son was supposed to be a “new happy beginning” for our family. Her son was his first grandchild.
