Savannah Guthrie Reportedly Spends $500K on Private Investigators to Find Mom Nancy

What To Know

  • Savannah Guthrie has reportedly spent over $500,000 on private investigators to search for her missing mother, Nancy.
  • Nancy Guthrie, 84, has been missing since February 1, after police believe she was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home.
  • Savannah remains committed to the search regardless of cost.

As the Nancy Guthrie investigation approaches its fifth month with no significant updates or potential suspects, Savannah Guthrie has reportedly turned to a team of private investigators to help bring her missing mom home.

According to The U.S. Sun, the Today co-host has spent around $500,000 on the search for Nancy after growing disillusioned with the official investigation. A source told the outlet that Savannah has hired an “entire independent team” of former agents, security experts, and investigators, who are “working leads every day.”

The source claimed that Savannah “has told everyone involved that the search will continue for as long as necessary” and that “she feels that depending only on the official investigation is not enough anymore – that’s why she’s investing so heavily in private investigators and outside specialists.”

Nancy, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah, has beenmissing since February 1,when police believe shewas abductedfrom her home in Tucson, Arizona. Investigators have releaseddoorbell camera footageof a masked suspect and sent DNA for testing at the FBI lab in Quantico, but no suspects have been named.

“[Savannah] became increasingly disappointed with how communication from authorities changed over time,” the insider claimed. “What once felt urgent started to feel far more routine. When Savannah learned there would no longer be direct contact with the sheriff, she took that very personally. She felt the family was being pushed further away from the center of the investigation.”

Another insider told The U.S. Sun that the “financial cost has become enormous,” but Savannah is willing to spend whatever it takes to bring Nancy home.

“By now, the costs have climbed well into the mid-six figures,” the source stated. “And remember, Savannah was once willing to pay a ransom, so spending big on the search is nothing new for her. She keeps telling friends the same thing: The family can’t stop searching.”

Earlier this month, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told a reporter his department iscloser to solving the case, stating, “I believe, at some point in time, we will make an arrest on this case. And whoever that individual is, that individual will have a right to a fair and impartial trial.”
