Schkeuditzer Kreuz has never been the sort of project interested in politely asking for your attention, and ‘Keep Dancing’ continues that tradition with admirable stubbornness. Built from a collision of industrial synths, pounding rhythms, and enough grit to sandblast a concrete wall, the track charges forward with the urgency of someone who has checked the news once too often and decided the only reasonable response is to turn the volume up. What could have been a straightforward protest anthem instead becomes something far more effective: a dance floor rallying cry for people who are angry, exhausted, and somehow still willing to show up.
The addition of guitars gives ‘Keep Dancing’ a sharper edge than some of Schkeuditzer Kreuz’s previous material, pushing the song closer to a glorious intersection where crust punk attitude and underground electronic music stop pretending they are different genres. Every element feels deliberately engineered for maximum momentum. The drums hit harder, the synths snarl louder, and the whole thing sounds like it was assembled in a warehouse moments before the authorities arrived. In an era when too much politically minded music arrives wrapped in self importance, this track wisely remembers that movement without energy is just a meeting.
What makes ‘Keep Dancing’ particularly satisfying is its refusal to surrender to despair. The song acknowledges the bleakness of the current moment without wallowing in it, channeling frustration into action instead. That spirit gives the track a genuine sense of purpose beneath all the noise and distortion. Schkeuditzer Kreuz has delivered a single that feels timely without sounding preachy, abrasive without becoming inaccessible, and danceable without sacrificing any of its bite. Sometimes the most radical thing you can do is keep moving, and this track makes a compelling case for doing exactly that.

About Schkeuditzer Kreuz
Australia’s roving merchant of industrial synth crust, Schkeuditzer Kreuz, has released their next 7” vinyl single, ‘Keep Dancing’.
Talking about the title track / A-side, ‘Keep Dancing’, Schkeuditzer Kreuz alias Kieren Hills says:
“Keep Dancing is a song of rebellion. It is a song about standing up for what you think is right. And it is a song of standing up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. It is about sticking together and sticking around to make our voice heard in a time where we feel under constant attack. The world feels pretty bad right now, but the song is about not switching off even when that feels like the only option.”
The single, ‘Keep Dancing – Fresh Graves Mix’ and its B-side, ‘Poor Impulse Control – Three Days Deep’, are both brand-new exclusive Schkeuditzer Kreuz remixes of tracks lifted from last year’s widely praised Swan Grinder album. Kieren continues.
“I have always wanted to have a go at putting guitar with one of my songs and this seemed like the perfect one to do. So I rerecorded it with guitars as well as redoing the drums and synths to make it sound more urgent and more, well, danceable.”
“Then the B-side – Three Days Deep: I took the original song and sped it up to 240bpm, distorted the fuck out of everything and well, we all know what Three Days Deep refers to…”
The show at Lazy Thinking is part of the 10-date Kae Takahashi / Anti Itch Cream tour of Australia, running from 4-14 June. Kieren explains how the tour came about:
Meanwhile, Schkeuditzer Kreuz is also using the ‘Keep Dancing’ release to make an early announcement of their own 19-date tour of Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia in October this year.
“Last week I put the finishing touches on the Asia tour, locking in a date in Kuala Lumpur. It is over four months until I leave but I am already nerve crushingly excited for it.”
