Next month, Iron Maiden‘s documentary Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition will get its North American debut when it hits theaters for a limited time. With just a few weeks left until people get a chance to see the film, the folks behind it put out a new trailer to hype its release.
Highlighting some archival footage of the band performing “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” while folks discuss the band’s writing process, this trailer gives a really cool look back at a time when Iron Maiden was younger and on the attack to take over the metal world. Sure, Bruce Dickinson still has that sort of energy in his performances to this day, but it’s cool to see the guys in their prime.
The documentary is directed by Malcolm Venville, whose previous credits include Churchill At War and 44 Inch Chest. The authorized documentary covers the band’s 50-year career, with interviews and insight from the band and some key figures, including the band’s longtime manager Rod Smallwood, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, Public Enemy‘s Chuck D, Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, and actor Javier Bardem.
The film will finally make its debut in theaters across the U.S. and Canada for a limited time on May 7, with a much wider general release planned for the rest of the planet.
