David Harbour Joins Noah Centineo in Action Movie ‘John Rambo’ (Exclusive)

David Harbour is going all Rambo.

The Stranger Things star is a late addition to John Rambo, Lionsgate and Millennium Media’s action feature being directed by Jalmari Helander, the helmer behind the grimy and gritty Sisu movies. Templeton Media and AGBO are also involved in the production.

An origin story that takes place before the events of First Blood, the Sylvester Stallone-starring movie that kicked off the Rambo franchise, John Rambo stars Noah Centineo as John Rambo, who will one day become a man who just wants to be left alone but here is a soldier fighting a war in the jungle.

In a key role, Harbour is playing Major Trautman, Rambo’s commanding officer.

In the original Rambo trilogy released in the 1980s, the role was played by Richard Crenna as a character who was the only calming influence in the one-man fighting force’s life.

The movie wrapped production in Thailand in March.

Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani wrote the screenplay. Producers include Kevin King Templeton for Templeton Media, Les Weldon,Jonathan Yungerfor Millennium Media, and Angela Russo-Otstotand Michael Discofor AGBO.

Stallone is executive producing the feature as are Anthony and Joe Russo,TrevorShort, and Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk ofBonfire Legend.

Harbour is currently enjoying some nice critical praise for his role as Floyd Smernitch in DTF St. Louis. And he has several movies that are in post-production and aiming for release later this year, chief among them Avengers: Doomsday. There is also Violent Night 2andEvil Genius.

He also previously starred for AGBO in action flickExtraction and is currently in production on Lionsgate’sA Head Full of Ghosts
