Charity Organization Cuts Ties with Sharon Osbourne After She Backs Tommy Robinson’s Anti-Immigration Rally

The homelessness charity Centrepoint has cut ties with Sharon Osbourne as its ambassador after she indicated plans to attend an upcoming “Unite the Kingdom” rally organized by far-right activist Tommy Robinson.

The anti-immigration rally is scheduled to take place at London’s Trafalgar Square in May. Osbourne replied to Robinson’s social media post promoting the event by writing, “See you at the march.”

Centrepoint, a UK-based charity which provides support to the homeless, has since moved to distance itself from Osbourne, whom has served as an ambassador.

“This sort of event does not align with our values,” the organization said in a statement (via the Guardian). “Centrepoint has a proud history of supporting young people whatever their background, ethnicity or religion. If we want young people to thrive in this country then we need to ensure our society continues to allow them to live without fear and able to access the opportunities they need to start education or work and leave homelessness behind.”
