The Silverlake Conservatory of Music is celebrating 25 years with some very famous friends. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Grohl, Vince Staples, Marc Maron, and more will take part in a special anniversary benefit at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on October 17th.
The event marks a quarter-century since Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea co-founded the nonprofit music school with musician Keith “Tree” Barry and their longtime friend Peter Weiss in 2001. Instead of holding its usual private annual benefit dinner, the Conservatory is opening this year’s celebration to the public at the Palladium.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, September 25th at 10:00 a.m. PDT via Ticketmaster following a pre-sale beginning Thursday, September 24th. Fans can also explore VIP packages and sponsorship opportunities through the Conservatory. Proceeds will support SCM’s music education programs, which currently reach more than 900 students each week. More than 200 students receive scholarships covering lessons, instruments, supplies, ensemble classes, and other programming.

The annual benefit is a major part of keeping those programs running, with SCM aiming to raise roughly $1.5 million each year to fund its operations. Previous editions have featured performances from artists including Patti Smith, Eddie Vedder, Neil Young, Bruno Mars, John Legend, Beck, Kamasi Washington, Tracy Chapman, and the Chili Peppers themselves.
This year’s celebration brings the event back around to one of the musicians who started it all, with Flea and Red Hot Chili Peppers helping headline the school’s biggest anniversary to date.
