Mariska Hargitay and her teenage daughter, Amaya, were totally twinning in red at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards!
Before Hargitay hit the stage as the September 14 ceremony’s host, the Law & Order: SVUstar posed on the red carpet alongside her husband, Peter Hermann, and their three kids, August, Amaya, and Andrew Hermann. While the three guys of the family wore matching tuxes, Hargitay and 15-year-old Amaya wore red sequin dresses with matching feather trains.
The 62-year-old actress, who’s hosting the ceremony for the first time, is also already an Emmy winner this year. During the Creative Arts Emmy Awards earlier this month, Hargitay earned two Emmys for directing and producing My Mom Jayne,a documentary film about her late mother, Jayne Mansfield. She’s received support from her family on red carpets since her directorial debut was released in 2025.

After now-20-year-old August was born in 2006, Hargitay and Hermann adopted Amaya in 2011. They adopted their youngest, Andrew, several months later. Hargitay and her husband were there when Amaya was born, and she has said it was one of the most meaningful moments of her life.
“I basically pulled Amaya out,” the actress told Good Housekeeping. “Peter and I held her, and then the birth mother and I hugged for a long time. That was profound.”
The Emmy winner has always been candid about her decision to adopt. “Having lost my mom at a young age, I then grew up with my stepmom, and I have half-siblings, and so I know that families can be built in all sorts of different ways, that there isn’t just one way to create a family and that it isn’t just about biology,” Hargitay told People.
Prior to the Emmys, Amaya has increasingly appeared at public events alongside her mother. The mother-daughter duo attended a showing of Hamiltonon Broadway whenLeslie Odom Jr. returned to the production in September 2025. Two years earlier, they were photographed at the premiere of Taylor Swift’sconcert film.
