Remi Wolf is back with “Twiggy,” her first song in two years. She debuted it last weekend during a surprise appearance at Hayley Williams’ headlining set at Newport Folk Festival, and you can now listen to the recorded version below.
“Twiggy” pairs a warm, finger-picked guitar arrangement with lyrics about a close and complicated relationship illustrated in small details: a Lexus driving backwards, “a wrinkle where your eyes should close.” She said in a press release, “I wrote Twiggy about people I’ve been with that lack both butts and emotional availability. And how I like that. Or maybe it’s just about the messiness of addiction? Idk, you decide :)” The vinyl release of the track will come with an offline B-side, “Tiny Little Twigs (Demo).”
Since releasing Big Ideas in 2024, Remi has collaborated with Thundercat and Zedd, and performed at a number of festivals. In May, she appeared as herself in the season premiere of Off Campus, playing the Big Ideas songs “Soup,” “Alone in Miami,” and “Toro“
