Even conservative-leaning podcaster Theo Von has had enough, putting the Department of Homeland Security on blast after their unauthorized use of one of his clips to promote deportation.
The video was titled “Bye,” and began with a short video Von had recorded saying, “Heard you got deported, dude. Bye.”
“Yooo DHS i didnt approve to be used in this,” Von posted in reply. “I know you know my address so send a check. And please take this down and please keep me out of your ‘banger’ deportation videos. When it comes to immigration my thoughts and heart are alot more nuanced than this video allows. Bye!”
Check out Von’s post below.
Donald Trump’s White House, the DHS, and ICE have consistently flouted copyright law to promote their policy of mass deportations. Earlier this year, JAY-Z hit ICE with a copyright takedown for using the 2003 song, “Public Service Announcement,” and just this week, the White House shared a video of ICE arrests set to the Pokémon theme song.
