The New Ways – The Testament

‘The Testament’ refuses to sit in one lane. Across its four tracks, The New Ways moves fluidly between stripped-back minimal grooves, punishing industrial percussion, and the dark, hypnotic pulse associated with Berlin’s club underground—all anchored by the low-end weight that has become a signature of his production style.

What sets the EP apart is its use of found-sound and spoken clips lifted from modern culture, embedded directly into the tracks. These fragments function as commentary, turning the dancefloor into a mirror for the chaos, contradiction, and noise of contemporary life. The closing track, “Bloodletting,” takes this personal: musically rooted in the sound of Berlin, it doubles as a raw meditation on the artist’s own battle with polycythemia vera, transforming a private health struggle into a pulsing, cathartic dancefloor statement.
