Raised in the Midwest of the United States, Monica Lynn dreamed from an early age of becoming a musician, with her sister teaching her guitar when Monica was still only five years old. Following graduation from college, Monica worked in human resources, still following her musical dreams while raising a family, singing and playing through volunteer and church activities.
‘What About Us’ takes its inspiration from life, and had its genesis in a new relationship that came out of the blue with immediate attraction and deep connection that was somewhere between friendship and romance. Monica Lynn sat down with her guitar one afternoon and the song emerged, with its bright positive vibes that capture all that new love can bring.
Recorded with producer Greg Huberty, in Sartell, Minnesota, who Monica Lynn met through the Midwest Country Music Organization (Midwest CMO), ‘What About Us’ is a bright and hopeful song that brings with it an optimism and excitement that is borne out by Monica Lynn’s sweet country pop vocals, supported by a light guitar and percussion instrumental.
